National Volunteer Week is coming up! Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, to build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world. It’s also used to inspire people to make their communities a better place and to encourage volunteerism in general. The U.S. will celebrate NVW this year from April 20-26, 2025 as part of Global Volunteer Month. Canada will celebrate from April 27-May3. Australia will celebrate NVW this year from 19-25 May 2025, and the United Kingdom celebrates Volunteers’ Week this year from 2-8 June.
There are many resources available on the web to help you brainstorm ideas on how to celebrate National Volunteer Week for your organization, including Points of Light, Volunteering Australia, Volunteer Canada, and volunteersweek.org.
