Dates Are Changed When Posting Hours

Why are hour entry dates sometimes changed when I post hours?

For efficient and fast database operations Volgistics has a lower and an upper limit on the dates that hour entries can have. The lower limit is always January 1, 1990; and the upper limit is always December 31st of the current calendar year.

You should not make hour entries for dates before or after this date range. If you're catching-up Volgistics by posting old service records for volunteers, entries for time periods earlier than 1990 must be dated 1-1-1990 or later (the volunteers original Start date on their History tab can be any date, including dates before 1990).

In order to save all of the hour records you post for a volunteer, Volgistics will automatically adjust service entry dates that are out of range. If you make an hour entry for a date that is earlier than January 1, 1990, Volgistics will change the date on the entry to January 1, 1990. If you make an hour entry for a date that is later than December 31st of current year, Volgistics will change the date on the entry to December 31st of current year.

You can always change the date on a service entry that has already been posted (to any date within the permitted range) if you'd like.
