Please complete this application form if you are interested in becoming an intern at the Eugene Mission! Once complete, click the submit button at the bottom. We typically respond within one week. Once received, we will review your application and respond with an invitation to an upcoming 'Meet Eugene's Mission' orientation tour. This orientation includes a physical tour of our 7.5 acre campus, an understanding of our services, who we serve and how the community - YOU - can be a part of what we do here!

We place volunteers and interns in upwards of ten departments each with their own volunteer needs and requirements. Internship placement will depend on the needs of each department as well as your skills, education goals, availability & commitment level.

For most roles, we ask interns to commit to a minimum of 3 months of service. Certain internships require a longer commitment.

Email Preferences

We have a wonderfully large community volunteer team working across all hours of all seven days of the week here at the Eugene Mission! Out of necessity, we use email to communicate essential volunteer information to new and on-going volunteers.

Whenever possible, we'd like to keep volunteers informed of important changes, on-going training opportunities available to you as a volunteer and much needed or new volunteer opportunities. Please 'accept' all forms of email communication AND add the Eugene Mission to your address book so these essential communications do not end up in your Junk or Spam folders.

Thanks much!

Release from Liability

In the event that I agree to accept a position with Eugene Mission (EM), I agree that the volunteer relationship between EM and me is an at-will relationship and that the position can be terminated, with or without cause, at any time, at the will of either EM or myself.

I certify that the information contained in this application is correct. If EM determines that any of the information submitted in this application or any other documentation that has been given to EM is false; including Background Check Release information, I may be immediately disqualified from consideration for volunteering and/or discharged from volunteer service in accordance with EM policy.

I hereby confirm that I have never been convicted of or charged with a violent crime, child pornography, child abduction, kidnapping, rape, or any sexual offense, nor have I ever been ordered by a court to receive psychiatric or psychological treatment in connection therewith.

Volunteers who serve with EM are occasionally included in EM publicity, publications, and public relation activities. I grant EM the irrevocable right to use forever any photographic images and video or audio recordings made during my volunteer activities with EM, and I agree to appear without pay.

As a volunteer at EM, I understand that I may work with donor information, staff information, and resident or guest information that may be confidential in nature. I will not discuss this information with anyone who is not directly involved in these areas. I understand that failure to maintain confidentiality may result in immediate release from my volunteer commitment at EM. The obligation to comply with this policy continues after my volunteer commitment with EM ends.

I hereby grant permission to EM to investigate the information contained in this application and release EM and any agents or other persons acting on behalf of EM from any and all liability relating to any investigation of the information contained in this application, including but not limited to background checks pertaining to service location or role.

I understand that the guest population of the Eugene Mission includes men and women who are addicted to drugs, alcohol, pornography and gambling. I understand that the guest population also includes men and women who have committed a variety of crimes, including crimes against persons such as assault, rape, and child molestation. I understand that the many Mission guests have varying degrees of mental illness. Therefore, I understand that while the Eugene Mission makes every effort to provide a safe atmosphere for its staff, guests, and volunteers, there is inherent risk in volunteering at the Eugene Mission. I affirm that I will follow safety precautions, policies and procedures, and will stay in areas designated for my volunteer shift. For parents/guardians: I agree that I will keep any minor children under my care in my sight at all times.

I hereby release EM from all actions, claims, or demands that I or my representatives now have or may hereafter have for injury, death, or damage to myself and/or my property resulting from my participation in EM volunteer activities. This includes actions, claims, or demands resulting in whole or in part from the negligence of EM or staff or volunteers. I attest that my attendance and involvement in these activities is voluntary, that I am participating at my own risk, and that I have read the terms and conditions of this release.
