The Academy is looking for volunteers aged 18 and over to join our Canadian Screen Week volunteer team. Canadian Screen Week takes place at a variety of venues in downtown Toronto, March 23-29, 2020. You can find the schedule on our website at www.academy.ca/schedule. We are looking for volunteers who are able to pitch in for a minimum of two shifts. We are looking for volunteers to assist at weekday industry events and galas, primarily in the evenings, and at our daytime Members Lounge, Monday through Friday. Our biggest needs are for Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, when we will be hosting Family Fan Day and three awards galas. We will also have general assistance shifts to fill at the Academy office during regular business hours in February and March. Check off your availability here. Most volunteer openings are for general customer service, such as greeting guests and offering event information; however, we do have a couple of specialty assignments to fill. Team Leads oversee specific groups, helping to get volunteers checked in and deployed, answering questions and managing the team onsite. The leadership team is first on and last off at our events. This senior volunteer assignment is open to previous Canadian Screen Week Leads and volunteers. Successful candidates require staff management skills, event experience, terrific people skills, and the ability to trouble-shoot any issues in a fast-paced environment. Must be available for Gala shifts on Monday and Tuesday, and especially Saturday and Sunday.
