The Guelph Humane Society needs Youth Leader volunteers for our Winter 2023 session of Junior Humane Club!

The club happens on Thursday evenings from 5:00pm to 6:30pm (for children in grades 1-4) and 6:45 pm to 8:15 pm (for children in grades 5-8) starting Thursday, January 19th and ending on Thursday, March 9th.

Our Junior Humane Club allows youth in Grades 1-8 to learn more about how the Guelph Humane Society helps animals and its role in the community, proper animal care, and how they too can help animals in our community on a weekly basis! Youth Leaders will help staff run games, crafts, and activities during the program. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance your resume, build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, and get hands-on animal and youth program experience! Hours can also be put towards community service. All programs will be located at the Guelph Humane Society and Youth Leaders are required to arrange their own transportation.

Youth Leader Volunteer Requirements:

• Grade 9 or above

• Experience working with children and/or animals preferred

• Comfortable handling various animals

• Positive, enthusiastic, hard-working, and responsible attitude

• Excellent teamwork skills

• Must be able to commit to Thursday evenings between the hours of 4:30pm and 8:15pm from January 19th-March 9th.
