Please note that the Wake County Animal Center does not have a Community Service program. If you are applying to volunteer for community service hours, our Volunteer Program is not for you.
Due to the pandemic, it make take several days or weeks before you hear back from the Volunteer Coordinator.
Please list accurate and working telephone numbers and email addresses. We use email as a cost-effective and time-efficient way for us to communicate updates to the volunteer program. We will only call you to communicate any emergency information, such as closures, etc.
Please provide the following information and keep in mind that you must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer with us. If you are under 18 years of age, you must also have a parent or legal guardian volunteer with you and they must fill out their own application. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Please indicate the days and times you are usually available to volunteer. We understand your availability may change in the future.
We like to keep volunteers informed of important updates and volunteer opportunities by email. You may, however, choose to opt-out of our volunteer newsletters, recruitment appeals, or schedule reminders. Please note that if you opt out of "Important Updates" you will be removed from the volunteer program as this is the primary way we communicate updates to our volunteers.
