Important Information – Please Read
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the refuge is still receiving applications, but we apologise for possible delays in application processing. This delay is for the health and wellbeing of our customers, volunteers and team members.
Volunteering at The Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge (referred to as “The Refuge”) may involve early morning or afternoon shifts, completing tasks which do not always involve direct animal contact, and can be physically demanding and dirty work. It requires a commitment regardless of the weather or season and for you to work as part of a team.
Volunteers must adhere to Refuge policies and procedures and follow the instructions of their Supervisor at all times. To comply with government regulations and the Workplace Health and Safety Act volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, and must not have children or minors accompany them when undertaking their volunteer work for or at the Refuge.
Please complete this application form if you are interested in becoming a Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge volunteer. Once you complete the form, click the submit button at the bottom.
Please provide your current contact details.
Please provide contact details for your next of kin to be advised in the event of an emergency.
Volunteering at the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge is physically demanding, and requires you and your pets to be protected.
This role can be completed on any day of the week that suits the volunteer, however we recommend an early morning start through the hotter months.
We are looking for people who have hands on experience using mowers, whipper snippers, blowers, including their general repair and maintenance (able to load additional cord, top up petrol, change spark plugs etc).
We like to keep volunteers informed of important news, schedules, and volunteer opportunities by email.
