Release and Waiver of Liability

ADULT Volunteers (18 years or older)

I hereby agree to accept a position as a volunteer worker for Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch (Hereafter referred to as ‘Furry Friends’) and in so doing, I agree to comply with all rules and regulations established by Furry Friends. I understand that failure to do so may result in my immediate termination as a volunteer.

I acknowledge that my services are provided strictly on a volunteer basis, without any pay or compensation of any kind, and without liability of any nature on behalf of Furry Friends. All services will be performed at my own risk.

I recognize that in handling animals and performing other volunteer tasks, there exists a risk of injury including physical harm caused by the animals. On behalf of myself, my heirs, personal representatives, and executors, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless Furry Friends and its agents, servants, employees, officers and directors from any and all claims, causes of action, or demands, of any nature or cause, including costs and attorney’s fees incurred by Furry Friends in connection with same, based on damages or injuries which may be incurred or sustained by me in any way connected with my services for Furry Friends, including but not limited to animal bites, accidents, injuries, or damage to personal property.

I understand public relations are an important part of volunteering at Furry Friends. On behalf of my heirs, personal representatives, executors, and myself allow Furry Friends to use any photographic or video image of me or my family for use in public relations efforts.

MINOR Volunteers (14-17 years of age)

I certify that I am the Natural Guardian (as defined in Section 744.301 Florida Statutes) of the Minor Child(ren) subject to this Agreement and that I am authorized to execute this release on behalf of said Minor Child(ren). I understand that I am affirming that I am the Natural Guardian of the Minor Child(ren) and such affirmation of being the Natural Guardian is being relied upon by Releasees in allowing the Minor Child(ren) to participate in the Event.

All minor volunteers ages 14 through 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the duration of their volunteer service time. Minor volunteers ages 16 through 17 can volunteer independently with parent or legal guardian approval.

Minor volunteers and their parent/legal guardian hereby consent to my (son, daughter, ward) accepting a position as a volunteer worker for Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch (Hereafter referred to as ‘Furry Friends’). Volunteer Rules of Conduct

Your time and energy as a volunteer at Furry Friends is greatly appreciated. We want this to be a positive and loving experience for our animals, as well as our volunteers. The rules listed below are for the benefit of our animals, as well as our staff and volunteers.

1. Volunteers should wear closed toe, flat bottomed shoes.
2. Volunteers may also want to consider long-sleeved shirts and pants
when working with animals.
3. Volunteers will conduct themselves in a polite and professional
manner at all times while representing Furry Friends as a volunteer.
4. Staff is always available to assist and give direction if you are
unsure how to best help our furry friends.
5. No cell phones may be used while volunteering at Furry Friends. If
an emergency arises please go outside the shelter to use your phone.
6. No volunteer may solicit funds, services, sell goods or tickets, and
distribute literature or petitions for any purpose other than those
of Furry Friends, while volunteering without prior authorization.
7. No volunteer may use foul or abusive language while volunteering at
Furry Friends.
8. No volunteer may reveal confidential information to unauthorized
persons.
9. No volunteer my report to work under the influence of alcohol,
narcotics, hallucinogenic, or other illegal drugs or prescription
controlled substances.
10. No volunteer may smoke or vape while volunteering.
11. No volunteer shall knowingly omit information or submit inaccurate or
untruthful information on the volunteer application.
12. No volunteer shall apply physical force, except to the extent
reasonably necessary for self-defense, to prevent escape or prevent
injury.
13. Every volunteer has the responsibility to protect and safeguard Furry
Friends property and the person and property of clients and other
volunteers and employees.
14. Possession, use, or threatened use of weapons or firearms while on
duty is prohibited and will result in immediate dismissal and
notification to the proper authorities.
15. Volunteers shall not use Furry Friends records, tools, materials,
equipment or facilities for personal use.
16. Every volunteer shall exercise reasonable care and maintenance of and
shall not misuse, destroy or abuse tools, equipment, records,
facilities or funds of Furry Friends.
17. No volunteer shall act as spokesperson for Furry Friends without the
express authorization of the President of Furry Friends, Patricia
Deshong.
18. Theft of any kind will not be tolerated and volunteer rights will be
terminated immediately.
