The Marion County Dog Shelter (MCDS) Foster Care program is for dogs that are not currently ready to find a new home. Examples include, but are not limited to: underweight puppies, dogs with injuries, moms with litters, dogs that are too young to be spayed or neutered, dogs needing kennel rest or behavior needs, etc.
We appreciate the invaluable service that foster parents provide and completing this application is the best way to assure a positive experience for both you and the dogs. By applying, you are under no obligation to foster a dog, nor is Marion County Dog Shelter under any obligation to place a foster dog within your care. Additional orientation, training, and approval may be required.
You may optionally provide the following information. It is used only to help us get a better idea of the demographic make-up of our volunteers.
We like to keep volunteers informed of important news, schedules, and volunteer opportunities by email, however will not send you any email you prefer not to receive. Use the checkboxes below to select the kinds of email you would like to receive from us.

Please list all members or your household (name and age)
Describe the type of experience you have with dogs (Companion pet, agility, trainer, showing, breeding, etc.)
Please tell us about the type of dog you are interested in fostering.
How did you hear about the Marion County Dog Shelter Foster Care Program? Have you ever (or currently are) fostering dogs from any other organization?
I understand that submitting this application form does not automatically register me as a Marion County Volunteer and that there may be certain qualifications I must meet, including the acceptance of established volunteer policies and procedures before I may begin volunteering. The information I have provided on the form is true and accurate.
