Volunteer Usher Contract and Agreement

I agree to:

• Make a commitment to serve as usher for the current season
• Use the Volgistics Volunteer Management program
• Be fluent in all show descriptions in the season
• Be familiar with special campus events and promotions
• Arrive on time, one hour and fifteen minutes prior to performance time
• Be able to lift 15 lbs and stand for extended periods of time (up to 2 hours)
• Stand during the shows, should they be sold out
• Adhere to proper dress code; Ushers are required to purchase logoed polos from Phoenix Theatre. Cost of shirts this season is $20.00.
• Bring a small flashlight and a pen with me for every shift as part of my uniform
• Assist with stuffing inserts in programs pre-show and cleaning the theatre after the show
• Memorize seating assignments in all theatres and understand best practices for handicap patrons
• Should I desire to be assigned Ticket Scanning duties, I will be certified & trained.
• Read tickets accurately to correctly seat patrons
• Be prepared to work any position assigned, and adapt to new assignments that may develop over the course of the season.
• Understand all emergency procedures and directions, and be able to guide patrons out of the building in an emergency situation.
• Follow all directions as provided by the House Manager and Front of House Services Manager
• Stay subscribed to all Phoenix Theatre emails to stay up to date on all information
• Come ready to go with a positive attitude
