Pets in the Park 2015 is the Edmonton Humane Society's largest fundraising event of the year and requires the help of more than 200 volunteers. Volunteer support is required for set-up on Saturday, June 27 and at the event on Sunday, June 28. We have a large variety of positions, from Walk & Race Registration, to our Silent Auction Tent, 50/50 Sales, Party (Parking) Patrol, Beer Tent and more. To volunteer independently, you must be 18 years of age, or older. Youth volunteers are welcome to volunteer with a parent. We ask for a minimum commitment of four hours any time between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 28.

You will be required to attend a Pets in the Park Volunteer Orientation. Please include your preferred date for orientation below and be sure to mark it in your calendar for personal reference. Once you complete the form, click the submit button at the bottom.

Pets in the Park Volunteer Orientation

Volunteer Orientations will be offered on the following dates. Please note that attendance at an orientation is mandatory to volunteer at Pets in the Park.

T-Shirt Preference

All Pets in the Park volunteers are required to wear the signature EHS Volunteer t-shirt at the event. Please indicate which size of t-shirt you will prefer to wear (unisex sizes). We will do our best to provide you with the size that you've selected.

Volunteer Release & Confidentiality Agreement


In consideration of being permitted to participate as a volunteer in a program organized or authorized by the Edmonton Humane Society (the Volunteer Program), I the undersigned agree to assume all risk of loss or injury, including death to myself or damage to my property while on the property of the Edmonton Humane Society, and elsewhere while participating in the Volunteer Program, and hereby waive any right of action I may have had or may in the future lodge against the Edmonton Humane Society, its successors, assigns, directors, staff, agents or volunteers for any such loss or injury caused by negligence or default of the Edmonton Humane Society, its successors, assigns, directors, staff, agents or volunteers, whether acting in scope of employment or not.

I acknowledge that the animals of the Edmonton Humane Society are not trained by the Edmonton Humane Society and that they can be unpredictable. I also acknowledge that Edmonton Humane Society strongly recommends I keep current with my tetanus and rabies immunizations, and to consult my physician about this and other concerns related to working with animals. If I have any reason to suspect I am pregnant, the Edmonton Humane Society recommends I ask my physician about working with cats.

I hereby waive for myself, my personal representatives and dependants all such claims or rights of action aforementioned that the undersigned or my personal representatives and dependents and its successors, assigns, directors, staff, agents, or volunteers. By submitting my application I acknowledge that I am of full age and that I have read this release and have voluntarily agreed to it.


It is agreed that while you are engaged in activities with the EHS and thereafter, you shall keep confidential and shall not disclose any trade secret, financial information, strategies, client lists, marketing strategies, marketing techniques, innovations, discoveries, or inventions, arising from or in connection with the EHS and/or its business of which you have direct or indirect knowledge, however such knowledge was or is obtained, except where such knowledge is or becomes publicly available through no fault or breach of confidence by yourself.


I give the Edmonton Humane Society permission to use any photo(s) taken at Pets in the Park, on June 21, 2014 and June 22, 2014, and/or personal story in future Edmonton Humane Society publications or promotional material. This may include, but is not limited to:
• Newsletters
• Annual Report
• Posters
• Brochures
• Website
• Public Display Board at the Edmonton Humane Society Animal Shelter
• Social Media
I also give permission for my name and/or family members’ names to be printed/displayed as well.
