Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Humane Society of Pinellas. Our volunteers make a difference in the lives of our shelter animals and our community, from in-shelter support to at-home foster care.

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS DUE TO COVID-19 WE HAVE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS WORKING IN THE SHELTER, THEREFORE WE HAVE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED ONBOARDING NEW VOLUNTEERS. ONCE WE BEGIN ONBOARDING NEW VOLUNTEERS AGAIN, WE WILL POST INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE SO PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN.


Requirements to become a long-term adult volunteer:

•Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

•Must be able to commit to weekly 2-hour shifts for at least 6-months.

•Must be able to easily communicate via email.

•Must be able to work well with staff, volunteers, and the public.

•Must complete required training for assigned volunteer position.

Note: Keep in mind that most shifts at the shelter are 2-hours, and depending on the role, start as early as 7am. Evening shifts from 5pm-8pm are available in Animal Care only.
