What do you hope to gain by volunteering at AIM?
Locations for all AIM activities will be announced around August 23. All activities will no longer be held on the UF Campus. However, we may be able to provide transportation to volunteers for the Fall semester. If you are in need of transportation to volunteer at AIM, please write a note in the box below.
1. In-person One-on-One In-Person Tutoring (6th grade to 12th grade subjects) - Monday - Thursday, 3:30 - 6:00 PM.
If you would like to participate in this activity, please note which subjects and grade levels you would like to tutor. We may be at two separate locations, one location for middle school and one location for high school, so please let us know which grade you prefer!
Students need most assistance with writing, science, and math! This opportunity requires weekly participation for a total of 4 hours per week and a commitment of one academic semester.
2. In-person Enrichment Activities and Recreation - Days and times to be announced.
This volunteer opportunity is best suited for individuals who are interested in being mentors to create trusting and impactful relationships with the students. Volunteers will participate in various activities for character development, skill building, and healthy lifestyles such as poetry writing, music, and discussion groups.
To maximize your mentorship relationships with the students, we recommend attending one-on-one tutoring as well.
This opportunity requires weekly participation for a total of 4 hours per week and a commitment of two academic semesters (1 academic year).
3. In-person Tennis Practice - Days and times to be announced.
Previous tennis experience is preferred but not required. Volunteers will play tennis with youth and teach tennis skills. To maximize your volunteer experience, we recommend attending one-one-one tutoring or enrichment activities as well.
This opportunity requires weekly participation for a total of 2 hours per week and a commitment of one academic semester.
Please type in the volunteer opportunity you are interested in, in the box below. Please remember to include if you will need transportation and what subjects and grade levels you would like to tutor, if you are interested in one-on-one tutoring.
Our recruitment model for staff members and interns focuses on transitioning volunteers to staff members or "coaches". As a volunteer, you will become familiar with our organizational culture and the various roles we all play to create a supportive and growth-focused environment for all members of the AIM Family. We are consistently looking to recruit staff members from our volunteer base and hence, your attendance (including meeting the commitments above) and performance will be evaluated during your volunteer time. After one academic semester, you may be recommended for a paid staff position or internship position!
If you would like to apply for an employment or internship opportunity, please go to our website, acesinmotion.org, to apply! Volunteering provides a competitive edge to be considered for employment, but we still accept applications without volunteer experience!
Please type your name below to acknowledge that you will be evaluated during your volunteer time if you are interested in being considered for a staff or internship position in the future.
If you have a college or class requirement, please specify the requirement, how many hours you need, and the due date for the completion of hours to best help you meet this goal!
Do you have any ideas of how you would like to volunteer with AIM, other than the options provided above? We are open to your ideas and would love to give you the opportunity to explore your interests, creativity and skills to greatly impact the program.
