Much of what we do at Lollypop Farm to save animal lives and give them second chance depends on the help of volunteers. Volunteering is fun and rewarding, and it is also a great way to help the homeless animals. Foster Care helps us make a big difference in saving lives.

Terms of Agreement
As a Foster Parent I agree to:
Provide transportation for foster animals to/from the shelter to undergo any medical treatment including routine vaccines, vet checks and surgery dates Notify the Foster Coordinator immediately of any notable changes in my foster animals health and or behavior Feed/water my foster animals as advised by the shelter veterinarian. Food/water should be available at all times for the cats/kittens Contact Foster Coordinator to arrange appointments for all routine vaccines, vet checks, surgeries Provide food/litter and any other supplies when the shelter is unable to Administer medications and other treatment as advised by the clinic. Contact the Foster Coordinator when meds are completed Only engage in positive reinforcement training methods and attend any training programs with my foster animal as advised Take the foster animal to the local emergency clinic (VSR) if I experience an emergency during Lollypop Farms closed hours Keep my foster animals in my own home while in my care unless prior arrangements have been made with the Foster Coordinator Keep all foster rabbits, cats or kittens indoors Participate in socialization and enrichment of my foster animals Notify Foster Coordinator if my foster animal bites or scratches me Be completely honest regarding foster animals behavior in the home and notify Foster Coordinator if aggressive, feral or fearful behaviors are seen in the home
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, maintains guardianship/ownership of foster animals at all times and reserves the right to reclaim an animal from its foster parent at any time and for any reason during the fostering period. In addition, whilst foster animals are in foster care they are not to be sold, given away, taken interstate or boarded at any location unless prior approval is given by the Foster Coordinator. POLICIES: All volunteers agree to abide by the policies and procedures of Lollypop Farm, including safety policies. PLEASE NOTE: I understand that euthanasia may be necessary in a situation where an animal is fading, suffering or un-adoptable due to behavior or medical reasons. I understand that these decisions are up to the head veterinarian and or the Foster Coordinator. I understand that all other options are exhausted before euthanasia is necessary. DECLARATION: I understand the above and I agree to adhere to these departmental requirements and stipulations. I understand that if I fail to adhere to any of the programs and requirements my participation in the foster program may be terminated. Further, as a representative of Lollypop Farm, I agree that I must display myself in a favorable light and that I must not speak on behalf of Lollypop Farm in media or similar situations.
