Main Line Animal Rescue does accept court-ordered volunteers. While you are fulfilling your court ordered hours, your service will include non-animal related projects: property care, laundry, stuffing Kong Toys, washing dishes etc. Once you have completed your court ordered hours, you will be able to be trained to work with the animals.
All court-ordered volunteers * MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE or older. We do not accept persons who have been convicted of the following crimes:
Felony level crimes
Crimes committed with a weapon
Illegal possession of a fire arm
History of sexual offenses
Predatory crimes
Theft
Possession/receiving/selling stolen property
Crimes of violence (including domestic assault)
Animal cruelty/neglect
MLAR requires all persons applying to volunteer, to state any past criminal record and reserves the right to conduct a background check on any volunteer, if warranted.
Main Line Animal Rescue also reserves the right to refuse any court-ordered volunteers for offenses not listed here.
Persons interested in more details about our court-ordered volunteering program should contact the Volunteer Coordinator at Volunteer@MLAR.org for more information and complete guidelines of the program.
READ THIS *Although people differ in their requirements for mandated hours, MLAR asks that you commit to 8 hours a month for a minimum of 6 months to have us sign off on Court appointed paperwork. We are not able to accommodate volunteers who intend to volunteer for only fewer hours.
MLAR is a alcohol free, drug free, weapon free zone. If you are found to have any of these in your possession, while on MLAR property, you will be asked to leave immediately and/or the authorities may be called.
