Animal Citations/Volunteer Dismissal

Tell us if you have been cited or had an animal impounded in the last six months, or have ever been dismissed from a volunteer post.


Volunteers under 18

We are not able to accommodate pet foster volunteers under the age of 18. If you are are 16 or 17 years old, you may begin volunteering at the shelter by attending the volunteer orientation and enroll in the teen program. Please check our website for an upcoming scheduled orientation date.


PET FOSTER CARE AGREEMENT AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

- I am a resident of Osceola County and live within the County limits.
- I am 18 years of age or older.
- I live in a home/apartment where pets are allowed.
- The other members of the household agree to allow me to foster.
- My schedule will allow time to care for a foster pet.
- I, or another member of my household, can transport the pet to the shelter on a weekday between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm for wellness checkups.
- I understand that these pets are owned by Osceola County even under my care and cannot be transported out of the county.
- I understand that this program requires a significant commitment on my part.
- I understand that, if I commit to fostering, training will be required.
- I understand that the foster program at Osceola County Animal Services does not provide volunteer hours but documents the number of animals and the days of care that I provide them.
- I understand that I am the foster parent and that members of my family or household (including children) will not be able to request documentation for fostering animals.
- I understand that working with animals carries with it inherent risks including the potential for bites, scratches, and falls. I further understand that other risks may exist including possible exposure to zoonotic and communicable diseases.

I, in consideration of being a pet foster family for Osceola County Animal Services, hereby release and hold harmless Osceola County Animal Services, Osceola County, its employees, representatives, agents, Commissioners, volunteers, and managers from any and all liability, direct and indirect, and all claims, rights, demands, lawsuits, actions, expenses, damages, or causes of action, which I or my heirs, personal representatives, successors, assigns or anyone claiming by, through or under me, in the event I am injured or killed while performing as a pet foster.

I fully understand that this release includes, but is not limited to any claims, rights, demands, actions, causes or actions, expenses and damages, whatsoever which may arise from any injury, act or omission, caused, occasioned or contributed to, actually or allegedly, by the negligence, sole or concurrent, of one or more of the parties released herein.

I acknowledge that I have read, fully understand and voluntarily agree to this Release and that no verbal inducements apart from this release have been made to me. I further acknowledge that I am assuming this responsibility willfully and have not in any way been coerced.
