SJC Information Booth Volunteer Application Form

Please complete this application form if you are interested in becoming a Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) Information Booth Volunteer.


Duties

  • Answer questions asked by booth visitors
  • Data entry
  • Log "lost and found" items turned in at the booth
  • Report suspicious activity 


Desired Qualifications

Information Booth Volunteers must:

  • Have a friendly, positive, attitude
  • Be dependable
  • Be willing to adhere to policies and procedures as instructed
  • Have the ability to work independently
  • Be computer-literate


Training

All training is done on-site at Mineta San José International Airport. New volunteers may be paired up with seasoned volunteers to gain experience.


Recruitment Process

  1. Your application will be evaluated by SJC's volunteer coordinator. (Please allow up to two weeks of turnaround time.)
  2. You'll be invited to participate in a video interview and may be asked to meet in-person.
  3. If selected to move forward in the process, you'll be asked to schedule an airport badging appointment where you'll fill out onboarding paperwork. You'll need to bring proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or medical/religious exemption) and documents that establish both your identity and work authorization for the purpose of a Security Threat Assessment.   4. Upon clearing a background check and receiving a badge, you'll be given access to the volunteer schedule and be asked to choose a date and time to begin your training.

Demographic Information

This information is used only to help us get a better idea of the demographic make-up of our volunteers. 

Note: You must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer. If you are a minor, you will need a work permit signed by your school and a parent/guardian. (This rule applies even if you are volunteering during Summer or Winter Break.) If applicable, you'll be asked to fill out the form called Request for Volunteer/Unpaid Trainee Authorization for Minors CDE Form B1-6(DOC). Availability

Please indicate the days and times you are usually available to volunteer. 

Note: Each shift is three hours long. You'll be expected to work a minimum of three shifts (nine hours) per month. We require all volunteers to commit to at least six months of service.
