T-Shirt Size

Every Leader In Training (LIT) will Receive a T-shirt uniform to be worn while on duty. All sizes are Adult Unisex cotton T-shirts.

Why become an LIT?

Which type of work are you interested in?

Community Service:

-Libraries, Youth Camps, Recreation Centers, Neighborhood Services


Office/Clerical Service:

-Assisting in various office settings, phones, data entry, etc


Administrative Service:

-City Manager's Office, Human Resources, Law, Mayor's Office


Public Service:

-Fire, Police, Public Works, Solid Waste, Utilities



Shift Preference

Shifts are typically only in the AM or PM. Type in your preference below. If you have no preference type "Open". (preferences don't guarantee a placement at that time of day)



Time Commitments

-Volunteer a minimum of 12 hours per week

-Commit to 1 week of the program (FALL AND SPRING SESSIONS ONLY)

-Commit to 6 of 7 weeks (SUMMER SESSION ONLY)


Please note that failure to meet these commitments could result in your application being declined.

Participant and Parent Acknowledgement

Participant Acknowledgement:

I, certify that all statements made in this application are true and I agree and understand that any misstatements or omissions of material facts may result in rejection of this application, removal from the eligibility list, or termination. I understand that I am volunteering for this program and that I will not receive any monetary payment.


Parent Acknowledgement:

I commit to being a partner in my child’s participation in this program. I will provide transportation and encourage my child to practice punctuality and good attendance. I know that if my child is selected it is important to emphasize his/her participation and good attitude, especially because this is a competitive program and selection is a privilege as not all applicants can be placed. I give permission for my child to receive medical treatment in case of an emergency. I understand that the City of Chandler does not carry accident insurance for these programs. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Chandler from all losses or injuries sustained during my child’s participation. I also give my permission for any photo/video taken of my child to be used by the City of Chandler.
