Teen Corps Application

Thank you for your interest in the Teen Corps program at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden.


This program is available to any teenager aged 15 to 18 who resides in the city of Columbus or is a student in the Columbus City School District. Applicants should have an interest in the environment, gardening and entrepreneurship and have an interest in sharing knowledge with the public at our weekly farmer’s market.


A complete application consists of this application form and two recommendation forms that should be completed by two different adults who are not related to you (teachers, counselors, scout leaders, etc). These reference forms can be downloaded from the Teen Corps website (https://www.fpconservatory.org/education-programs/outreach-programs/teen-corps/).


If you are under 16, please be aware that you will have to provide a minor work permit to be able to participate in Teen Corps. Please contact your high school office about obtaining this required form.

Requirements for the Teen Corps Program

1. A student in the Columbus City School District or resident of the city of Columbus.

2. 15-18 years old on or before June 1, 2020

3. Have reliable transportation to the Franklin Park Conservatory. TRANSPORTATION IS NOT PROVIDED. The hours expected are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8am-12:30 pm. You will also be expected to work alternating Wednesday shift times, depending on which market group you are assigned. Some Wednesdays you will work from 830am-230pm and other Wednesdays you will work from 130-8pm.

Schedule Group Interview Time

All Teen Corps applicants are required to attend a two-hour group interview. Please choose the date and time that you will attend. If you have questions about the interview times or need to reschedule your interview, please contact teencorps@fpconservatory.org.

I agree that this application has been completed thoroughly and truthfully without omission or embellishment to my abilities and/or experience. Further, I understand that should it be discovered that I provided false, inaccurate, or misleading information, I may be terminated as a participant in the Teen Corps program. It is understood that this application, as well as further documents, will remain confidential within the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Teen Corps organization.
