Volunteer Application Form

Please complete this application form if you are interested in becoming a Sea Turtle Preservation Society volunteer. Once you complete the form, click the Continue button at the bottom. If you do not receive an email that your form has been submitted, please email us at volunteer@seaturtlespacecoast.org to check on your application status. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder before contacting us. We will hold your application on file for three months. Please do not re-apply during this time.


ALL SEA TURTLE PRESERVATION SOCIETY VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS IN ORDER:

Step 1 - Complete ALL sections of this volunteer application online.

Step 2 - Complete a brief interview with the Volunteer Coordinator or designee(s) on Saturday, January 15th.

If selected to volunteer with STPS, you will need to complete the additional steps as follows. Information will be provided to you from the Volunteer Coordinator.

Step 3 - Become a member.

Step 4 - Pay approximately $25 to cover the cost of a volunteer t-shirt and nametag.

Step 5 - Attend mandatory Volunteer Orientation. Must be available Saturday, February 5th. 

Step 6 (if applicable) - Attend all mandatory trainings/meetings for volunteer areas you are interested in (some include annual requirements).


As an STPS volunteer, you will be required to:

-Agree to follow all STPS policies, procedures, and guidelines.

-Keep your membership as active and in good standing.

-Wear your STPS volunteer t-shirt and nametag when representing STPS.

-Complete a probation period of 20 hours of volunteering before volunteering with certain programs. 

-Record your volunteer hours in our volunteer system. Volunteers are required to stay active by recording hours each calendar year. Inactive volunteers who wish to volunteer with STPS at a later date will be required to go through the volunteer process again, including a new 20 hour probation period.


All volunteers under 18 years old must have a parent/guardian volunteer with them. The parent/guardian must complete the volunteer process and meet all volunteer expectations also.

Volunteers not following STPS policies, procedures, and guidelines may be removed from the volunteer program.

WAIVER:

The undersigned volunteer, participating in any Sea Turtle Preservation Society activity, by their signature agrees to abide by program guidelines and recognize that it is the responsibility of each person to watch out for his or her own safety, as well as the safety of others. The undersigned also voluntarily assumes the risk and agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Sea Turtle Preservation Society, its directors and volunteers against any, and all losses and claims or mere claims that may be made by the undersigned, their heirs, assigns or successors against the Sea Turtle Preservation Society.


PHOTO RELEASE:

I grant Sea Turtle Preservation Society and its representatives the right to take photographs of me. I authorize STPS to copyright, use, and publish photos in print and/or electronically. I agree that STPS may use photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including purposes including but not limited to: publicity, advertising, social media, and web content.


Your information will not be sold or shared outside of STPS.
