***AS A VOLUNTEER, ANIMAL SAMARITANS WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A NAME TAG LANYARD. YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR IDENTIFICATION (NAME TAG) WHILE VOLUNTEERING FOR ANIMAL SAMARITANS.
**With guidance from Cal OSHA (Occupational Health & Safety Administration) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), Animal Samaritans’ Executive Board of Directors has enacted a change in our Health and Safety policy. Effective today, all Animal Samaritans’ employees and volunteers are required to be vaccinated against COVID 19. We recognize that for many the issue of vaccinations is not only a matter of health and safety, but is also a matter of civil liberties and personal choice. That said, we also must recognize that providing a safe work environment that reduces the risk of harm, illness, or injury is not only our duty, but is also a legal responsibility to our employees. For these reasons, we are requiring all employees and volunteers to be vaccinated. Also, volunteers and employees must wear masks, at all times, in our Animal Samaritan's facilities.
We request that all vaccinated volunteers show proof of vaccination. This can be done by 1) emailing a photo of your vaccine card (front and back) to email@example.com; 2) bringing your vaccine card to Animal Samaritans and show it to a member of Animal Samaritans' admin or management staff, at which point we will make a photocopy of your card for our records; or 3) showing proof of your vaccine by going to https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/
for your QR code.
Please email the attached document and proof of vaccination to firstname.lastname@example.org or print out the attached documents, fill out and sign, and bring with you the next time you volunteer at Animal Samaritans along with proof of vaccination.**
***VOLUNTEERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING TRACK OF THEIR SCHEDULES AND LOGGING THEIR HOURS. YOU CAN DO THIS BY FILLING OUT THE "VOLUNTEER TIME" WHICH IS FOUND IN THE VOLUNTEER SECTION ON OUR WEBSITE. THIS IS ALSO AVAILABLE AT THE FRONT DESK OF THE SHELTER. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
***Volunteers should be polite and helpful at all times. All people and animals are to be treated with respect and courtesy.
***Volunteers should refer questions from the public regarding Animal Samaritans policies to the staff only. Volunteers should maintain confidentiality in regards to Animal Samaritans clients, donors and business.
***Volunteers must accept the guidance and decisions of the professional staff person responsible for volunteer activities. Problems and disagreements should be taken to the Volunteer Coordinator.
***Any accident or injury to either a person or animal should be reported to the Volunteer Coordinator IMMEDIATELY.
