Cuyahoga County Public Library is excited to partner with the DEA to offer this incredible experience to the public from January 15th-June 20th, 2020. We are looking for volunteers to fill three roles:

An Exhibit Docent is a volunteer who is comfortable guiding visitors through the exhibit and shares relevant knowledge about aspects of the exhibit.

A Group Presenter/Speaker is an expert in their field that is willing to provide group presentations on topics relevant to their field of expertise. Relevant topics include mental health, substance use, abuse, prevention and treatment, criminal justice and other relevant fields.

Youth Support Services volunteers should have a background in mentoring, mental health, substance use, and counseling and would be comfortable meeting with youth experiencing acute distress.

Volunteer Positions and Availability

Please let us know in which position you are interested as well as your daily availability. The exhibit will be open open 9am-9pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-5pm Friday and Saturday. Ideally, volunteers will work four hour shifts in the following blocks: 9am-1pm, 1-5pm, and 5-9pm.

Background Check

Volunteers are required to have a cleared background check on file.



If the Library chooses to make me a preliminary offer of a volunteer position, it will require that I submit to a criminal background check. I understand that the Library may rescind its preliminary offer if for any reason I refuse.

I further understand that nothing contained in the application or conveyed to me during any interview is intended to create an employment relationship or employment contract, implied or explicit, between the Library and me.

Submitting a volunteer application does not guarantee placement or engagement as a Library volunteer. Once accepted as a volunteer, an assignment can end at any time at the discretion of the volunteer coordinator/local Library supervisor.

I acknowledge that there is no salary or other compensation or benefits for my services as a volunteer, and that participating in the volunteer program is neither required for regular employment nor regularly leads to regular employment with the Library.I understand that Cuyahoga County Public Library shall not be responsible for the loss or damage of personal property and possessions of the volunteer.
