Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 34th annual Virginia Film Festival, to be held October 27-31, 2021. We could not host the Festival each year without your help and support.

To facilitate the process of matching volunteers to the 2021 VAFF needs, please take a moment to fill out the form below. We ask you for your contact information, your interest, and your general availability. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Jenny Gardiner, will be in touch with you you individually beginning the week of October 4, 2021 to discuss your application and assign you a role.

We ask that you please select "OK to call" next to your cell number as this allows us to text you to communicate about scheduling.

Also, pay special attention to entering your email address correctly. After submitting this form, you will receive an automatic confirmation from us. If you do not receive this confirmation with 24 hours of submitting your form, then you likely entered your email address incorrectly and we suggest you either re-apply or contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@virginiafilmfestival.org. Given the volume of applications we receive, if we receive an interest form with an invalid email, we will delete the entry from our database.

Terms and Policies

The Virginia Film Festival appreciates your interest and commitment to volunteering for the 2021 Festival. The information that you provide on this form will be used by VAFF staff for general planning purposes only.

The VAFF's Volunteer Coordinator will contact you beginning the week of October 4, 2021 to sign you up for specific volunteer shifts. If you are not contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator, it means that we have filled our volunteer needs and positions for 2021. Based on the information you provide, the Virginia Film Festival staff will contact you ONLY to (1) schedule you as a volunteer for the 2021 Festival or (2) share with you additional Virginia Film Festival volunteer opportunities between now and the 2022 Festival. We will not share or distribute your information to anyone outside of the Virginia Film Festival or for any means other than the two listed above.

The Virginia Film Festival is a program of the University of Virginia. As such, the University of Virginia requires that all VAFF volunteers carry personal health insurance to protect themselves against the cost of medical expenses from injuries and illnesses that may occur. The University of Virginia and the Virginia Film Festival will not pay for any medical expenses related to illness or injuries incurred while volunteering for the Virginia Film Festival. By submitting this form, you are agreeing to these terms.

*New for 2021* We require all volunteers to show proof of being fully vaccinated prior to each volunteer shift. Alternatively, volunteers can submit religious or medical exception form AND provide a negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to each volunteer shift. All volunteers are also required to wear masks during shifts, regardless of vaccination status.
