General Volunteer Application Instructions
STEP 1: Complete this application if you are interested in becoming an ABSMC General Volunteer. Currently recruiting volunteers for limited departments only. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
STEP 2: The volunteer coordinator will evaluate your application and we will be in touch if your experience is a good match for our organizational needs. Please know that it may take some time for us to get back to you. Thank again for your interest in ABSMC!
Please provide the information of who you would like to be contacted in case of an emergency.
Are you at least eighteen (18) years of age?
Note: If you are a student, you are required to have completed at least one full year of college before applying to our program.
Are you currently on bail concerning an arrest or have you been released on your own recognizance concerning a
criminal case currently pending trial?
Have you ever been convicted of a crime?
Existence of convictions will not necessarily disqualify an applicant from volunteering.
"Conviction" includes a plea, verdict or finding of guilt regardless of whether sentence is imposed by the court,
but does not include participation in any pre-trial or post-trial diversion plan or a "conviction" that has been
sealed, expunged, eradicated, or any misdemeanor conviction for which probation has been successfully
completed or otherwise discharged and the case has been judicially dismissed pursuant to
Penal Code Section 1203.4.
"Crime" means felonies and misdemeanors but does not include marijuana convictions that are more than two years old.
Have you ever been arrested for any offense involving controlled substances?
Have you ever been arrested for a sex offense for which registration as a sex offender would be required upon conviction?
Please explain why you want to volunteer here. There is no maximum word limit but we would like a minimum of 4 sentences. Note: Keep in mind, we are currently recruiting volunteers for limited departments only. We appreciate your understanding given the current pandemic circumstances.
