Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Virginia Mason Medical Center. We are excited to build up our Volunteer Services program again, and are currently recruiting for a few of our volunteer positions, including:

  • Concierge Cart:
    • Concierge Cart was started in 2011, as a way for Virginia Mason Volunteers to meet the needs of patients, needs separate from their healthcare. We provide complimentary items for patients during their hospital stay, including items like cell phone chargers, basic toiletries, entertainment items and more. Concierge Cart volunteers traditionally would enter a patient’s room to deliver items, assessing if the patient needed anything else during their stay. Because of COVID-19, we are not entering patient rooms right now, instead connecting with the patients Care Team to hand off the requested Concierge Cart items.
  • Gift Shop:
    • Our Gift Shop supports our Patient Enrichment services at Virginia Mason, and is a space of respite for patients, visitors and staff, whether someone is looking for a last minute gift or a sweet treat to help them through the day, you can find it at Serenity Gift Shop. Volunteers in the gift shop greet and welcome customers, assist staff with operational support (such as operating the cash register, pricing and stocking new inventory), assist with flower and gift orders, and more.

If these positions are of interest to you, we encourage you to fill out the below application.

Applications are open during a set time period based on current shift availability. Please be available to begin volunteering upon application submission. Our commitment is to screen your application within 7 business days after receiving your application. You'll be responded to via email regarding the next steps.
