Food Handling Certificates

All Kitchen helpers and food & drink servers must supply a Food Safety Certificate. This can be completed online and free of charge through the Launceston City Council:


Important Sections to complete: Overview, Contamination of Food, Food Handling Skills & Knowledge, Food Storage, Food Disposal, Health of Persons who Handle Food, Hygiene of food Handlers, Cleanliness (other sections can be completed if desired).

Submitting Paperwork

All applicants MUST be over 16 and supply the number from your Working With Vulnerable People Card before your application is accepted. Cards expiring prior to 25 December 2021 MUST be renewed prior to the event.

Copies of Safe Food Handling Certificates and any other paperwork to support your application can be lodged with info@launcestoncommunitychristmas.com.au, attention: Volunteer Management.


Due to COVID regulations, I understand that if I have cold or flu-like symptoms on the day of this event I must not attend.

I understand that I must supply the number of my current Working With Vulnerable People card.

I understand that I must supply a copy of my Food Safety Certificate to volunteer in roles where this is a requirement.

I understand that, if I am employed as a Christmas Event volunteer, I will be liable to dismissal if any of the statements in my application are found to be deliberately misleading.

I agree to represent the host organisations in a positive way.

I agree that I will not take illegal drugs or consume alcohol, or be under the influence of same, whilst engaged in volunteer activities.

I understand that stealing is grounds for immediate termination and may result in criminal charges being laid.

I agree to work in a manner that is safe to myself, other volunteers and members of the public as a duty of care.

I give permission for the Launceston City Community Christmas organisers to maintain on file my personal information relevant to my voluntary duties, which may be accessed by relevant staff members in the case of an emergency. I understand this information will not be given to any other person or agency unless I give my specific permission.

I understand photographs may be taken by and of people participating in the Launceston City Community Christmas. I understand it is my responsibility to remove myself if I do not wish to appear in photographs.
