The animals need YOUR help! We are currently looking for volunteers to fill morning Rise & Shine shifts to assist our staff with cleaning and animal care. Volunteers will help with cleaning animal housing, laundry, feeding, rotations, socializing and anywhere assistance is needed. This role requires hard work and has a high level of responsibility.

Volunteer Requirements

Please read our volunteer requirements below. Check the box next to each requirement acknowledging that you understand and agree to them.

**Service commitment: Volunteers must be available for a recurring schedule on the same day(s) each week for a minimum of 6 weeks. We have shifts every day in either the canine area or the feline area, from 8-11am. Timeframe is somewhat flexible, but morning availability is required.

**Physical requirement: You will be standing/walking/kneeling/bending the entire shift. Moderate lifting required for food, litter or trash bags. Canine shifts require the strength to confidently handle large dogs. No allergies to animals or issues using cleaning products.

Health & Safety

In addition to wearing a mask during all your volunteer activities, each volunteer must understand and agree to the following safety policies:

1. If you have had direct exposure in the past 2 weeks to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19, you cannot volunteer until you have completed a 14 day quarantine and received a negative test at the end of your quarantine period.

2. If you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 you cannot volunteer and must wait for symptoms to subside. Before returning you must have one of the following: a negative test, or clearance from a doctor confirming your symptoms were not COVID related and you are not contagious.

3. Lastly, our staff is very careful at work and outside of work, and we expect our volunteers to be socially responsible when out in the community as well. This means following all city, campus, and government policies put in place to control the spread of COVID-19.

*We operate with a small staff and we NEED our employees to stay healthy because the animals rely on us everyday. Please do your part in protecting our staff, yourself, and our community.*

If your social engagements are very important to you and you are not willing to forgo large or unsafe gatherings, then this role will not be a good fit as you would pose a great risk to our staff and your fellow volunteers.
