Estate Maintenance Volunteer: Rockwood Park and Museum
Location: Rockwood Park and Museum
Rockwood Park and Museum
Duties:

Rockwood Park and Museum seeks light maintenance specialists to gently update and preserve its buildings, interiors and collections. Maintenance volunteers will help update the surfaces of some of the public reception rooms of the museum, install feature exhibitions, coordinate object moves for new interpretations, clean museum objects and installations and decorate for festivals. While New Castle County government provides Rockwood with large-scale support of its buildings and grounds, the Maintenance Volunteers will work largely in the house on lighter, more detailed duties related directly with the collection, museum displays and program spaces.

Much of the museum’s maintenance and installation work will take place during scheduled projects, mostly during the week and on days that are closed to the public. This kind of work is ideal for small teams of friends and family.

Qualifications:

Must be able to stand for a few hours at a time, lift furniture in a team atmosphere and perform basic carpentry tasks.
