Gardening Volunteers: Rockwood Park and Museum
Location: Rockwood Park and Museum
Rockwood Park and Museum

Rockwood Park and Museum seeks assistants for the gardening crew. Gardening Volunteers will work principally within the Walled Garden, Colonial revival Parterre Garden, Apothecary Garden, Vegetable Garden and with the historic plantings in the six acres surrounding the park’s central historic mansion including the Heritage Plants Tour. These volunteers may also have responsibilities inside the mansion’s Conservatory, Winter Garden and with strategic potted plants throughout the historic interiors. While the majority of responsibilities will consist of weeding, deadheading, pruning and watering, Gardening Volunteers may also have opportunities to contribute to public programs, garden tours, park festivals, craft projects, decorations and workshops.

Must enjoy working in the outdoors, be able to stand for a few hours at a time, able to bend, willing to work your hands and get a little dirty as well as perform light lifting. Experience with gardening, floral arranging, craft projects and public programs is great, but not necessary.
