2020 Safety Town Volunteer/Intern

Duties: New Castle County is seeking Summer Volunteers/Interns for Safety Town!

NCC is seeking volunteers/interns aged 18 and older for their Safety Town program. Safety Town is a fun program consisting of a miniature town with child-sized houses, crosswalks, and streets. This popular program teaches children 4, 5 and 6, about safety through songs, guest speakers, and role-playing.

As a volunteer/intern you will be working with young children to guide them through the activities as they learn the program. This opportunity is perfect for anyone requiring credits for their course of study, anyone who enjoys working with young children or anyone who is considering pursuing a career working with young children.

The volunteer/intern is an unpaid position. The volunteer/intern will be needed during the summer months (June to August 2020) but must be available for one of the training dates listed below. Training and program dates and locations listed below. Please state your preferred location and dates of availability in your application (we will endeavor to meet individual needs).

The volunteer/intern hours will be 8am – noon, Monday to Friday. Training will be provided (see below for training session dates).

Qualifications: Must be able to stand for long periods at a time and enjoy working with young children.
