Dental Assistant/Student
Location: Free Clinic
Duties: Help the dentists and hygienists provide more efficient dental care to the patient while adhering to all regulatory agencies.

Duties may include:
* X-rays, set up for procedures and breakdown operatories, 4 handed
dental assisting, chart review, and sterilization

One Shift per Month for a Year


Adult Restorative Clinic
This clinic provides Urgent/Emergency Care (fillings and extractions) for adults with pain or infection. The Free Clinic does not provide cleanings or specialty care such as endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, or orthodontics.

Pediatric Clinic
This clinic provides routine restorative care, extractions, and
stainless steel crowns, pulpotomies, sealants, BWX, and exams for
children. Nitrous oxide is available for the comfort of the children. Children may be referred to OHSU by the program for special circumstances.

Sealant Clinic
This clinic provides preventative care such as fluoride varnish, oral health instruction, and sealants for children at various elementary schools and events. In the van, a hygienist or dentist will provide sealants, oral health instruction and fluoride varnish as needed.
Qualifications: * Required at least 3-6 months of general experience as a dental assistant.

* Washington State dental assistant registration not required (D1).
