Duties: Volunteer Dentists provide exams and treatments for adult urgent/emergency care and routine and preventative care for children. Free Clinic provides basic supplies and equipment for screenings, x-rays, sealants, fluoride varnish, anesthetic, fillings and extractions.

The Free Clinic does not provide endodontic, cleanings, periodontic,
prosthodontic, or orthodontic care.


VOLUNTEER SCHEDULING

Clinics are scheduled according to your availability. Please call the Dental Program Manager to schedule a clinic.

Dental CE credits are available for volunteering. One credit is
available per hour, and seven credits are available per year.


Adult Restorative Clinics:
This clinic provides restorative care (fillings) and extractions for adults. The care is to relieve pain and infection utilizing permanent treatment. The Free Clinic does not provide endodontic, cleanings, periodontic, prosthodontic, or orthodontic care.

Pediatric Clinics:
This clinic provides restorative work and extractions for children. Clinics provide comprehensive dental work including stainless steel crowns and pulpotomies. Nitrous oxide is available for children, and the clinic has referral sources to OHSU program for more complex cases.
Qualifications: * All volunteer dentists are required to have: DMD, DDS - State of
Washington Licensure, active and in good standing.
* Dentists must provide their own liability insurance. For Retired
Dentist, Washington Healthcare Access Alliance offers free
malpractice insurance and free licence renewal at
