HD Grocery Load & Deliver
Location: Community Emergency Service
Home Delivery

Program Overview: Home Delivery is designed for our neighbors in the Phillips area who are low income and unable to physically visit the food pantry. Food is delivered free of charge, once a month. The food is hand selected based on the neighbor’s needs and consists of canned and boxed non-perishables, produce, meat, eggs and milk when available. In this collaborative program, CES offers neighbors the food and volunteer power to “shop” for our neighbors in our food pantry.

Primary Responsibilities:

           Top & Deliver

  • Pack perishable food products into the bags that have previously been packed with non-perishables
  • Delivery to the designated delivery site
  • Interact with neighbors while they come and pick-up their assigned bag of goods

•Ability to lift a 40 pound tote

•The ability to relate with compassion and empathy in a professional and friendly manner

•Work cooperatively with neighbors, volunteers, vendors/donors to improve the food shelf operations and neighbor’s experience.

Volunteers come to CES which is located at 1900 11th Ave S to top off the bags to be delivered and then proceed to a specific apartment complex to deliver the groceries. The apartment complexes are located in South Minneapolis close to CES.
