Meals on Wheels

Program Overview: Meals on Wheels is an important solution to those in need of nutritional and social support, many of whom are homebound. With the help of volunteers, CES serves over 350 people daily in the inner city areas of South and North Minneapolis with a smile and prepared, nutritious hot noon meal or frozen meals delivered weekly.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Arrive at CES between 11am-11:30 to pick up packed meals and a delivery sheet

•Deliver meals to each neighbor following any specific delivery instructions

•Be aware of the neighbor’s environment and appearance and report any unusual signs to the supervisor

•Bring coolers back to CES


•Valid driver’s license and insurance

•Car for transporting meals

•The ability to relate with compassion and empathy in a professional and friendly manner

•Work cooperatively with neighbors, volunteers, vendors/donors to improve the food shelf operations and neighbor’s experience.

•Acceptance of cultural differences and similarities without assigning them value – positive, negative, better or worse, right or wrong


Volunteers pick up meals and route sheet at CES which is located at 1900 11th Ave S, Minneapolis MN 55404

Deliveries take place in North and South Minneapolis and my be apartment buildings or single-family homes
