FS Afternoon Distribution
Location: Community Emergency Service
Food Shelf
Duties:

Our neighborhood food shelf is a SuperShelf food program, meaning we strive to offer a wide variety of fresh and healthy food options in a welcoming environment for you and your family. We operate on a client-choice model, meaning you get to “shop” for the foods that you enjoy and that are best for your family’s food needs.

Volunteers meet with each neighbor and assist them through their shopping experience. Volunteers are also versed in resources provided by CES and those out in the community so we can assist our neighbors physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Monday - Wednesday 12:45-4:15

Qualifications:

•The ability to relate with compassion and empathy in a professional and friendly manner

•Work cooperatively with clients, volunteers, vendors/donors to improve the food shelf operations and neighbors’ experience.

•Ability to overcome challenges that may arise and know when to seek assistance from CES staff for more complex issues that may not have a clear or immediate solution

•Acceptance of cultural differences and similarities without assigning them value – positive, negative, better or worse, right or wrong
