Meal Plating Lead
Duties: Overview
The Meal Plating lead is responsible for ensuring that the all meal trays are assembled, sealed, labeled and stored appropriately according to the instructions, and that the kitchen is cleaned up after plating is done, while observing all food safety protocols throughout the entire operation.

Specific Deliverables
Kitchen set up prior to meal plating team arrives to the kitchen
Using the instructions from the Chef, direct an effective and safe flow to plate the number of protein and vegetarian meal trays
Properly label and mark each meat protein and vegetarian meal tray for easy identification when packers fill the delivery bags
Store sealed meal trays promptly in the fridge
Communicate with, train, monitor and support the plating team during the operation, on all the specifics related to the tasks.
Be a role model and ensure all volunteers in the kitchen observe the food safety protocols, i.e. handwashing, changing gloves, appropriate personal appearance observed.
Clean and sanitize the kitchen following the checklist.

Key Activities
Follow the above activities during the Wednesday schedule below:
9:45 am - Arrive to the kitchen, review instructions and set up
10 am - Plating crew arrives, morning huddle
11:30 - 12 noon - Finish sealing, labeling and storing
12 - 1 pm Clean up
Write an email report to the Ops team upon completion of the operation. Template will be provided
Record volunteer hours in the weekly schedule sheet
Regularly communicate with the Chef and Kitchen Manager via email or phone, as needed to develop this operation, as we grow our number of recipients and therefore, our needs change.

Expectations:
1 year term job commitment with option to renew.




Working knowledge of the kitchen, Culinary Angels service standards and food safety protocols
Be available on Wednesdays between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm
Ongoing communication with the Chef and Kitchen Manager
Be available to participate in our monthly Culinary Angels Ops Meeting, the last Thursday of each month between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, if needed.
