MUST be able to commit to the same 3-4 hour shift each week (shifts available 7 days a week).|
A. Greets guests to the floor and gives directions
B. Helps restock refreshments, reading material etc. in public areas
C. Assists patients and guest with comfort measures in public areas
D. Assures cleanliness in public areas
E. Answers the phone at the nurses station
F. Assists nurses in any non-medical needs
G. Completes all annual volunteer training updates and surveys
H. Attends volunteer support meetings and education as needed.
I. Adheres to all guidelines, policies and procedures
A. Satisfactorily completes required initial hospice training.|
B. Meets all application and screening requirements, including personal references, criminal background check, and TB test.
C. Signs confidentiality statement, possess effective communication skills
D. Willing to function as a supportive team member. Is reliable and punctual.
E. Comfortable with death and the dying process. Has no significant personal loss within the previous year.
F. Must be at least 16 years of age.
G. Must have ability to assume responsibility and work independently and/or with partners.
H. Good communication and listening skills.
I. Ability to work well with customers, staff and other volunteers.
