Camp Faith 1
Duties: Camp Faith is an event for grieving children and their families to come together in a safe place for an afternoon of activities, education and encouragement. This family-centered event is for children mourning the loss of parents and/or grandparents. Camp Faith is held twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter.

Volunteer opportunities include:
• Set up for activities at Camp Faith site
• Registration and welcome
• Provide age-specific activity support for children and families

A. Serve as member of the Volunteer Facilitator Team.
B. Provide emotional support to children/teens and families during the bereavement process.
C. Listen to a bereaved person’s personal story with empathetic assurance of the grief process
D. Be aware of the need for professional intervention in the event of unhealthy or abnormal grief reactions and report to Program Coordinator.
E. Reserve confidentiality of client/family concerns
F. Attend volunteer support meetings and education as needed.
G. Adhere to all guidelines, policies and procedures.
Qualifications: A. Satisfactorily completes required Camp Faith group facilitators training.
B. Meets all application and screening requirements, including criminal background check.
C. Signs confidentiality statement and conflicts of interest forms.
D. Possesses effective communication skills
E. Willing to function as a supportive team member. Is reliable and punctual.
F. Comfortable with death and the dying process. Has no significant personal loss within the previous year.
G. Must be at least 18 years of age
