Duties: Description of Role: Provide dinner for six to eight adults at one of New Hope Housing’s Permanent Supportive Houses, group homes for adults who have experienced chronic homelessness and require additional support from Case Managers and staff. A nutritious meal can be dropped off by 5:00 p.m., either hot or ready to be heated, homemade, or from a restaurant. Volunteer groups can also elect to prepare the meal onsite. Please use disposable pans/serving dishes. The meal should be balanced and enough for eight adults. NHH is an EOE/ADA that values diversity!

Primary Responsibilities:
• Drop off a balanced meal that serves 8 at assigned location
• If desired, stay and spend time with clients while they eat (please note, PSH homes are for individuals with mental health disabilities and are not always able to interact with volunteers)

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Act as a representative of New Hope Housing while volunteering and in the community
• Check in with staff upon arrival
• Keep supervisor informed of any changes in schedule or availability
• Maintain confidentiality
Qualifications: Skills Needed:
• Friendly, positive demeanor
• Ability to commit to dropping off a meal once a month

Desired Experience:
• None! Simply a willingness to support New Hope Housing’s clients

Time commitment: Meals should be dropped off by 5:00 p.m. (may be earlier, but please provide re-heating instructions). If you are preparing the meal onsite, please plan to have the meal ready between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. Please let staff know if you are dropping the meal off or preparing onsite! We ask for volunteers to commit to at least one day a month for three months.
