Address Labels Page Design Tab

The Page Design page appears when you create a new report or modify an existing report. Use these options on the Page Design page to customize the size and arrangement of labels on this Address Labels report:

Label Layout Options

Avery label number

Address labels are formatted for printing on laser or ink jet printer label sheets. If you're using Avery brand label sheets, or label sheets that list the comparable Avery stock number, select the stock number of the label sheets you intend to print on. If you do not know the stock number of your labels, or your stock number is not listed, choose Unknown or different brand. Stock number 5160 is usually appropriate for the most commonly used sheet fed labels (3 labels across by 10 labels high).

Font name

Choose the font you want to use for the text on your labels.

Font size

Choose the font size in points for the font used on your labels.

Fit to label

Depending on the size of label you're printing to, the font size you choose, and the amount of text to be printed on a particular label, it is possible that some text may extend beyond the right edge of the label. Normally, text that will not fit on a label is truncated to prevent it from overprinting the adjacent label.

Check this option if you want the report to attempt to make all of the text fit on the label. It does this by choosing a smaller font size for the labels where the text is too wide. Note that in some cases, the label text could still be too wide even at the smallest legible font. In these cases the excess text is still truncated.

Margin around edge of individual labels

Your labels can include a small margin around the edge of each label. Enter the size you want this margin to be, in inches (or fraction of an inch). For example, enter 0.1 if you want a margin that is 1/10th of an inch wide. This margin appears along all four sides of your labels.
